The big birthday party
Let's celebrate!
On 5 September we will celebrate Caspar David Friedrich’s birthday together at Marktplatz Greifswald. Join us for an unforgettable afternoon of music, film, costumes and “Cake for Caspar“.
Greifswald challenges Dresden
Which city’s marketplace can gather the most people dressed in Romantic period costumes? Together we’ll show that Greifswald is the true Caspar David Friedrich city.
Your costume can include simple items of clothing, hairstyles or accessories, with home-made items also welcome. So grab your top hats, tie your bonnets and get a piece of Caspar’s birthday cake – free for everyone in costume.
